This survey is an attempt to comprehensively understand the demographics and perspective of the Homestuck community in 2019, covering a broad set of questions relating to identity, political viewpoint, opinions on media, and consumption of content.

The survey was conducted between August 6 and August 12, 2019, and received 5,294 valid responses. It was promoted in multiple diverse segments of the Homestuck community, including Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit and various prominent Homestuck-focused Discord servers.

Section 1 provides insight into the demographics of the Homestuck community, including age, nationality, first language, race, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, disability, political affiliation, and opinions on representation in media.

Section 2-5 provides insight into consumption of Homestuck and other associated official media, including opinions on its content, characters, and quality.

Sections 6 and 7 provide insight into members of the Homestuck community’s interactions with social media and fan content.

Section 8 provides insight into how fans approve of the corporate figures surrounding Homestuck and the community’s desires for the future.

Understanding and documenting the feelings and demographics of fandom is important. Cultural phenomenon are best understood and preserved when documented.

Questions of identity and privilege help educate the community to its own composition. Our understanding of and relationship to strict demographic categories is complicated. The best effort was made in the collection and presentation of this data to respect the complexity of descriptions of identity within, but no set of choices about the presentation of demographic data will ever by fully adequate while remaining sufficiently anonymous.

Thanks to Aysha U. Farah, optimisticDuelist, Makin, and everyone who shared this survey in their communities.

This is the second published version of the document.

The first version incorrectly repeated data in the second table on section 1.24 (page 11). The first version skipped numbering from 1.17. to 1.19. The first version had a minor text-wrap formatting error on table 1.8. These issues have now been corrected. Thank you to homericHorror and J.R. Hyde for identifying errors.
